Your Demat account number consists of your DP ID and Client ID. For CDSL registration, the first 8 digits represent the DP ID, followed by 8 digits for the Client ID. Alternatively, for NSDL registration, the account number begins with ‘IN’ followed by 6 digits denoting the DP ID, and the remaining 8 digits represent the Client ID.
