How to Open a Minor Account at Zerodha?

To open a minor investment account online, follow these steps below: 

Step 1: Visit signup.zerodha.com/minor and log in using the guardian’s Zerodha account credentials.

Step 2: Verify the guardian profile details and click on Continue. Update the details if required before proceeding.

Step 3: Enter the minor’s mobile number, email ID, PAN, and date of birth. Verify the mobile number and email ID using OTP.

Step 4: Enter the minor’s Aadhaar number on the DigiLocker page and submit the OTP received.

Step 5: Enter the minor’s bank account details and select the terms and conditions checkbox. 

Step 6: Conduct an In-person Verification (IPV) with both the minor and their guardian present. 

Step 7: Upload all the required documents¹ and click on “Continue”. 

Step 8: If you want, you can add nominees at this stage.

Step 9: The guardian must eSign using their Aadhaar to complete the process. 

Once done, the account will be opened within 48 working hours, and login credentials will be sent to the registered email ID.

Documents required to open a minor account online:

2. Minor’s Aadhaar number 

3. Proof of date of birth of the minor 

4. Recent photo of the minor 

5. Copy of a canceled cheque or bank statement of the minor’s bank account 

6. Legal guardian letter, if applicable 

7. Guardian’s PAN 

8. Guardian’s address proof

9. Guardian’s signature.
